regulator is to move the door glass either to the up or down position. The door
glass is attached to the window regulator and moves thru window
guides/channels. Window
regulators are either manual operated (use a window handle) or are power assisted
(use a power motor that is activated with a switch). Some window regulators (as
found on many newer cars and trucks) are cable operated, the cable is
connected to a bracket mounted on the glass, routed through a pulley and
the other end to the winding mechanism. Others are a steel scissor type
that move on a pivot point to move the door glass.
