Inside door handle repair, the design of the door handle is dealer The
door handle is secured to the interior trim panel and is only available
that way from the dealer. We have a repair option that offers cost
savings. The original pull lever and case is secured to the backside of
the door panel with either rivets or plastic posts that are melted over.
You will need to remove the panel and free the broken unit from it.
Customers have said that a small grinding wheel or drill bit works well
for that task. Once removed your new piece will need to be secured in
place. A good strong glue or epoxy works well. You may find that the
original posts maybe useable by reheated using a soldering iron. Take a
close look at your situation and you should be able to devise a plan to
attach the unit. This may sound like a lot of work however compared to
the cost of a new trim panel, it should be worth it. |
